Sou Mao Peace & Plates Project

A Legacy of Nourishment, Dignity, and Community

Nourishing Communities. Honoring Legacy.

Born from resilience and rooted in love, the SouMao Peace & Plates Project exists to provide nourishing meals to elders and underserved communities in Cambodia through intentional gatherings that restore dignity, connection, and care.

Where It All Began

The Sou Mao Peace & Plates Project was created to honor a family legacy shaped by survival, sacrifice, and strength.

As a first-generation American, I carry the story of my parents—who endured the Khmer Rouge and rebuilt life from the ground up. This project is a continuation of that journey. A return to what matters most: feeding people, gathering in peace, and giving with intention.

Through Muslim gatherings, we provide meals to the elderly and those in need across Cambodia, starting in Kampot Province.

Each meal is more than food.
It is remembrance. It is dignity. It is love made visible.

From Plate to Purpose

🥘 Community Gatherings

We host meal gatherings rooted in cultural and spiritual tradition—bringing people together in peace and care.

🐄 Locally Sourced Meals

Each event supports local economies through the purchase of livestock and ingredients prepared within the community.

🤝 Sustained Impact

We are building a model that goes beyond one-time giving—creating consistent, recurring nourishment for those who need it most.

Growing With Intention

Our vision is to create a sustainable cycle of giving—where each gathering plants the seed for the next.

We aim to:

  • Fund multiple gatherings annually across Cambodia

  • Expand to underserved communities globally

  • Build a model where investments fuel impact

This is not charity.
This is community, built with care.

May every plate served carry peace.
May every gathering remind us
we are meant to care for one another.
